World Beaters Resources

World Beaters make resources with families and the local communities involved with early years settings.  Created for use by primary schools and early years settings to celebrate diverse communities, we provide PDFs of stories, recipes, craft ideas, songs and music which can be used for group activities and display.  There are even ideas for school outings!

Doum Teka Doum Tek

Created by families from William Patten School in Hackney celebrating the smells, sounds and tastes of Turkish/Kurdish/Cypriot life in Stoke Newington.

Soo Dha Woow – Welcome

This resource explores Somali culture through the eyes of a 4 year old girl attending Lea Nursery in Slough.  She takes us through a day in her life, we meet her family and share in some of her favourite activities.

Pongase su Poncho

A cultural exchange between Southwark and Latin America, this resource was made by families and community organisations of Latin American heritage at Kintore Way Children’s Centre in Bermondsey.

Bears in the Night

At Woodlands Park Nursery and Children’s Centre staff were keen to develop their media and IT skills. Using cameras and sound equipment chosen specially for little hands, the staff and all children at the nursery created their own movie of that early years classic, Bears in the Night.
